PLC Minutes 12/18

1. LeRoy and Ralston started discussing where we want to start when we come back from break.
2. We will start with sequences and series (focus on geometric series). This will be a good opportunity to tie in real-world problems (mortgage payments, etc).
3. After sequences and series is a nice feed into exponentials and logs. Nate started dropping documents that we used last semester into our PLC folder for us to look over and start editing over break.
4. Katie is taking sequences and series binder home over break to start planning and will post a general outline to our PLC Unit 6 folder.
5. Lawson set up Grade Cam for final exam grading.

1. Backwards planning-look at quadratics test. Do we need to make any changes? Additions? Separate test for advanced?: Both tests look good. We will probably have to test on block day because of the length, but it's necessary.

-Were your students sent to Becca: LeRoy sent and Lawson said that she will today. Not sure about Nate (he's out for a personal day).
-I signed out my Chromebook cart for Lawson to use for round 1. Do we still want to use Khan Academy?: Yes we do plan on using Khan Academy. Will start planning for that on Tuesday.

-What did they do well: The matching on the front page, increasing and decreasing, domain and range.
-What did they struggle on: plotting points and using the table, arrows on the end of the graph, work on vocabulary ("it goes to infinity")
-What are we doing to help move them forward before the test: Transformation activity helped, Graphing Intervention worksheet
